🎋 CÂU CHUYỆN VỀ HAPPY SMILE QUILLING
Xin chào. Mình là Hải cố vấn của nhóm Happy Smile Quilling. Trước đây mình làm việc trong lĩnh vực du lịch và có cơ hội đồng hành cùng một đoàn khách Nhật Bản đến từ tỉnh Saitama. Mỗi năm hai lần, họ sang Quảng Nam không phải để tham quan, mà để thăm các gia đình có người khuyết tật và nạn nhân chất độc da cam tại những vùng quê xa trung tâm.
Họ mang những câu chuyện đời thực ấy trở lại Nhật Bản, viết thành sách để gây quỹ, rồi dùng chính số tiền đó quay lại Việt Nam và xây nhà tặng cho những gia đình khó khăn. Chứng kiến hành trình cho đi đầy nhân ái đó và tiếp xúc với nhiều nạn nhân có cuộc sống khó khăn và nghe những câu chuyện từ họ, một trong nhưng câu chuyện tôi được nghe là có người từ bỏ cuộc sống vì tự ti với thân hình không lành lặn, không muốn làm phiền gia đình.
🌱 Một câu hỏi nhỏ – mở ra một hành trình lớn
Thời điểm COVID-19 (2020 – 2022), trong cuộc gọi hỏi thăm sức khỏe đến các gia đình có nạn nhân chất độc da cam mình nhận được những tin tức không vui. Ngay khoảnh khắc đó, mình biết rằng mình phải làm điều gì đó – dù nhỏ – nhưng có ý nghĩa thật sự.
Mình tự hỏi: “Nếu không thể đi làm như người khác, liệu vẫn có một công việc nào đó nhẹ nhàng, có thể làm tại nhà, giúp các bạn cảm thấy mình được công nhận và có giá trị?”
Và mình chọn nghề xoắn giấy (Quilling) – một công việc tỉ mỉ nhưng dễ tiếp cận, không cần di chuyển, chỉ cần kiên nhẫn và đôi bàn tay khéo léo là có thể tạo ra sản phẩm đẹp sau khoảng một tháng học nghề. Mình thành lập nhóm đầu tiên tại Hội An, đồng thời gửi dụng cụ và dạy nghề từ xa qua video cho các bạn không đến được nơi làm việc. Ngày 18/05/2023, cửa hàng nhỏ của Happy Smile Quilling chính thức mở cửa tại phố cổ Hội An.
Khó khăn đầu tiên & bước ngoặt quan trọng
Sau hơn 6 tháng hoạt động, vào tháng 12/2023, lượng khách châu Âu đến Hội An tăng mạnh. Thế nhưng thời tiết trở lạnh, nhiều bạn khuyết tật ở quê bị đau ốm, không thể làm kịp sản phẩm, dẫn đến việc cửa hàng hết hàng để bán. Đó là giai đoạn khiến mình lo lắng nhất. Và cũng chính lúc đó, mình quyết định:
- 👉 Mở rộng mô hình ra toàn quốc – không chỉ ở Quảng Nam
- 👉 Vừa dạy nghề – vừa thu mua sản phẩm để đảm bảo nguồn thu nhập lâu dài cho các bạn

Đến nay, Happy Smile Quilling đã có thành viên tại nhiều tỉnh thành trên cả nước. Mỗi sản phẩm bán ra không chỉ là một món quà lưu niệm, mà còn là cơ hội để một người khuyết tật tiếp tục tin vào giá trị của chính mình và có thu nhập để cuộc sống tốt hơn. Trong thời gian tới nhóm cũng sẽ tiếp tục phát triển dạy nghề và tiêu thụ sản phẩm cho các bạn khuyết tật là nạn nhân chất độc da cam, khuyết tật bẩm sinh hay là do tai nạn…ở những vùng quê khác.

🎋 THE STORY OF HAPPY SMILE QUILLING
Hello. I'm Hai, an advisor for the Happy Smile Quilling group. I used to work in the tourism industry and had the opportunity to travel with a group of Japanese guests from Saitama Prefecture. Twice a year, they would travel to Quang Nam, not for sightseeing, but to visit families with disabilities and Agent Orange victims in remote rural areas.
They brought these real-life stories back to Japan, wrote books to raise funds, and then used that money to return to Vietnam and build houses for families in need. Witnessing this journey of compassionate giving and interacting with many victims facing difficult lives and hearing their stories, one of the stories I heard was about a person who had given up on life due to self-consciousness about their imperfect body, not wanting to be a burden to their family.
🌱 A small question – opened up a great journey
During the COVID-19 pandemic (2020 – 2022), I received some sad news during a wellness check-in call with families of Agent Orange victims. In that moment, I knew I had to do something – no matter how small – that was truly meaningful.
I asked myself: "If they can't go to work like others, is there a gentle job they can do from home that would help them feel recognized and valued?"
And I chose paper quilling – a meticulous yet accessible craft that doesn't require commuting. With just patience and skillful hands, one can create beautiful products after about a month of training. I founded the first group in Hoi An, while also sending tools and teaching remotely via video to those who couldn't come to the workplace. On May 18, 2023, Happy Smile Quilling's small shop officially opened in the ancient town of Hoi An.
First difficulties & a significant turning point
After more than six months of operation, in December 2023, the number of European tourists in Hoi An increased sharply. However, the weather turned cold, and many of our disabled artisans in the countryside fell ill and couldn't complete products in time, leading to the shop running out of stock. That was the most worrying period for me. And it was then that I decided to:
- 👉 Expand the model nationwide – not just in Quang Nam
- 👉 Both teach the craft and purchase their products to ensure a long-term income for them
🌍 Happy Smile Quilling Today
Today, Happy Smile Quilling has members in many provinces across the country. Every product sold is not just a souvenir, but an opportunity for a person with a disability to continue believing in their own self-worth and earn an income for a better life. In the future, the group will continue to develop vocational training and sell products for disabled individuals, whether they are Agent Orange victims, have congenital disabilities, or were injured in accidents in other rural areas.

🎋 ハッピースマイルクイリングの物語
こんにちは。ハッピースマイルクイリンググループのアドバイザー、ハイと申します。以前は観光業界で働いており、日本の埼玉県からのお客様の団体に同行する機会がございました。彼らは年に二度、観光のためではなく、クアンナム省の遠隔地の障害を持つご家族や枯葉剤の被害者を訪問するためにベトナムに来られていました。
彼らはその実話を日本に持ち帰り、本を執筆して資金を集め、そのお金で再びベトナムを訪れては、困難な状況にあるご家族のために家を建てていました。この慈愛に満ちた支援の道のりを目の当たりにし、困難な生活を送る多くの被害者の方々と接する中で、ある方が、不自由な自分の体に自信が持てず、家族に迷惑をかけたくないという思いから人生を諦めようとした、という話も伺いました。
🌱 小さな問いが、大きな旅の始まりに
新型コロナウイルスのパンデミック期（2020年～2022年）、枯葉剤被害者のご家族に安否確認のお電話をした際に、悲しい知らせを受けました。その瞬間、私は何かをしなければならない、たとえ小さなことでも、本当に意味のあることをしなければならないと強く感じました。
「他の人と同じように働きに出られないのであれば、自宅でできるような、穏やかで、彼らが自分自身の価値を認められていると感じられる仕事はないだろうか？」と自問しました。
そして私が選んだのが、ペーパークイリングでした。これは通勤の必要がなく、細やかな作業ですが、比較的取り組みやすい工芸です。忍耐力と器用な手先さえあれば、約1ヶ月の訓練で美しい作品を作ることができます。私はホイアンで最初のグループを立ち上げ、同時に、作業場に来られない方々のために道具を送り、ビデオ通話で遠隔指導を行いました。そして2023年5月18日、ハッピースマイルクイリングの小さなお店がホイアンの旧市街に正式にオープンしました。
最初の困難と、重要な転換点
開店から半年以上が経過した2023年12月、ホイアンを訪れるヨーロッパからの観光客が急増しました。しかし、天候が寒くなり、地方に住む障害を持つ作り手の多くが体調を崩し、製品の製作が間に合わなくなり、お店は品切れ状態に陥ってしまいました。その時期が、私にとって最も心労の多い時期でした。そして、まさにその時、私は決断しました。

- 👉 技術を教えるだけでなく、彼らの製品を買い取ることで、長期的な収入源を確保する

今日、ハッピースマイルクイリングはベトナム全国の多くの省にメンバーがいます。販売される製品の一つ一つが、単なるお土産ではなく、障害を持つ人が自分自身の価値を信じ続け、より良い生活のための収入を得る機会となっています。今後も、枯葉剤の被害者、先天性の障害を持つ方、あるいは他の農村地域で事故によって障害を負った方々のための職業訓練と製品販売の発展を続けてまいります。

Hola. Soy Hai, asesor del grupo Happy Smile Quilling. Solía trabajar en la industria del turismo y tuve la oportunidad de viajar con un grupo de invitados japoneses de la Prefectura de Saitama. Dos veces al año, viajaban a Quang Nam, no para hacer turismo, sino para visitar a familias con discapacidades y víctimas del Agente Naranja en zonas rurales remotas.
Llevaban estas historias de la vida real a Japón, escribían libros para recaudar fondos y luego usaban ese dinero para regresar a Vietnam y construir casas para familias necesitadas. Siendo testigo de este viaje de donación compasiva e interactuando con muchas víctimas que enfrentan vidas difíciles y escuchando sus historias, una de las historias que escuché fue sobre una persona que había renunciado a la vida debido a la autoconciencia sobre su cuerpo imperfecto, no queriendo ser una carga para su familia.
🌱 Una pequeña pregunta abrió un gran viaje
Durante la pandemia de COVID-19 (2020 – 2022), recibí una triste noticia durante una llamada de control de bienestar a familias de víctimas del Agente Naranja. En ese momento, supe que tenía que hacer algo, sin importar cuán pequeño fuera, que fuera verdaderamente significativo.
Me pregunté: "¿Si no pueden ir a trabajar como los demás, existe un trabajo suave que puedan hacer desde casa que les ayude a sentirse reconocidos y valorados?"
Y elegí el quilling de papel, una artesanía meticulosa pero accesible que no requiere desplazamientos. Con solo paciencia y manos hábiles, uno puede crear hermosos productos después de aproximadamente un mes de entrenamiento. Fundé el primer grupo en Hoi An, mientras también enviaba herramientas y enseñaba de forma remota por video a aquellos que no podían venir al lugar de trabajo. El 18 de mayo de 2023, la pequeña tienda de Happy Smile Quilling abrió oficialmente en el casco antiguo de Hoi An.
Primeras dificultades y un punto de inflexión significativo
Después de más de seis meses de operación, en diciembre de 2023, el número de turistas europeos en Hoi An aumentó considerablemente. Sin embargo, el clima se enfrió y muchos de nuestros artesanos discapacitados en el campo se enfermaron y no pudieron completar los productos a tiempo, lo que provocó que la tienda se quedara sin existencias. Ese fue el período que más me preocupó. Y fue entonces cuando decidí:
- 👉 Expandir el modelo a nivel nacional, no solo en Quang Nam
- 👉 Enseñar el oficio y comprar sus productos para asegurarles un ingreso a largo plazo
🌍 Happy Smile Quilling Hoy
Hoy, Happy Smile Quilling tiene miembros en muchas provincias de todo el país. Cada producto vendido no es solo un recuerdo, sino una oportunidad para que una persona con discapacidad continúe creyendo en su propia autoestima y gane un ingreso para una vida mejor. En el futuro, el grupo continuará desarrollando la formación profesional y vendiendo productos para personas discapacitadas, ya sean víctimas del Agente Naranja, tengan discapacidades congénitas o hayan resultado heridas en accidentes en otras zonas rurales.

Hallo. Ich bin Hai, ein Berater der Happy Smile Quilling Gruppe. Ich habe früher in der Tourismusbranche gearbeitet und hatte die Gelegenheit, mit einer Gruppe japanischer Gäste aus der Präfektur Saitama zu reisen. Zweimal im Jahr reisten sie nach Quang Nam, nicht zum Sightseeing, sondern um Familien mit Behinderungen und Agent-Orange-Opfer in abgelegenen ländlichen Gebieten zu besuchen.
Sie brachten diese realen Geschichten zurück nach Japan, schrieben Bücher, um Spenden zu sammeln, und nutzten dieses Geld dann, um nach Vietnam zurückzukehren und Häuser für bedürftige Familien zu bauen. Als ich diese Reise des mitfühlenden Gebens miterlebte und mit vielen Opfern sprach, die ein schwieriges Leben führen, und ihre Geschichten hörte, hörte ich eine Geschichte über eine Person, die das Leben aufgrund von Selbstbewusstsein über ihren unvollkommenen Körper aufgegeben hatte und ihrer Familie keine Last sein wollte.
🌱 Eine kleine Frage – eröffnete eine große Reise
Während der COVID-19-Pandemie (2020 – 2022) erhielt ich bei einem Wellness-Check-in-Anruf bei Familien von Agent-Orange-Opfern traurige Nachrichten. In diesem Moment wusste ich, dass ich etwas wirklich Sinnvolles tun musste – egal wie klein.
Ich fragte mich: „Wenn sie nicht wie andere zur Arbeit gehen können, gibt es dann einen sanften Job, den sie von zu Hause aus machen können, der ihnen hilft, sich anerkannt und wertgeschätzt zu fühlen?“
Und ich entschied mich für Papierquilling – ein sorgfältiges, aber zugängliches Handwerk, das kein Pendeln erfordert. Mit nur Geduld und geschickten Händen kann man nach etwa einem Monat Training wunderschöne Produkte herstellen. Ich gründete die erste Gruppe in Hoi An und schickte gleichzeitig Werkzeuge und unterrichtete per Video aus der Ferne für diejenigen, die nicht zum Arbeitsplatz kommen konnten. Am 18. Mai 2023 eröffnete der kleine Laden von Happy Smile Quilling offiziell in der Altstadt von Hoi An.
Erste Schwierigkeiten und ein bedeutender Wendepunkt
Nach mehr als sechs Monaten Betrieb stieg die Zahl der europäischen Touristen in Hoi An im Dezember 2023 stark an. Das Wetter wurde jedoch kalt, und viele unserer behinderten Handwerker auf dem Land wurden krank und konnten die Produkte nicht rechtzeitig fertigstellen, was dazu führte, dass der Laden keine Ware mehr hatte. Das war die besorgniserregendste Zeit für mich. Und da beschloss ich:
- 👉 Das Modell landesweit zu erweitern – nicht nur in Quang Nam
- 👉 Sowohl das Handwerk zu lehren als auch ihre Produkte zu kaufen, um ihnen ein langfristiges Einkommen zu sichern
🌍 Happy Smile Quilling Heute
Heute hat Happy Smile Quilling Mitglieder in vielen Provinzen im ganzen Land. Jedes verkaufte Produkt ist nicht nur ein Souvenir, sondern auch eine Gelegenheit für eine Person mit einer Behinderung, weiterhin an ihren eigenen Selbstwert zu glauben und ein Einkommen für ein besseres Leben zu verdienen. In Zukunft wird die Gruppe die Berufsausbildung und den Verkauf von Produkten für behinderte Personen, ob sie nun Agent-Orange-Opfer sind, angeborene Behinderungen haben oder bei Unfällen in anderen ländlichen Gebieten verletzt wurden, weiterentwickeln.

J'ai travaillé dans l'industrie du tourisme et j'ai eu l'occasion de voyager avec un groupe d'invités japonais de la préfecture de Saitama. Deux fois par an, ils se rendaient à Quang Nam, non pas pour faire du tourisme, mais pour rendre visite à des familles de personnes handicapées et de victimes de l'agent Orange dans des zones rurales reculées.
Ils ont ramené ces histoires vécues au Japon, ont écrit des livres pour collecter des fonds, puis ont utilisé cet argent pour retourner au Vietnam et construire des maisons pour les familles dans le besoin. En assistant à ce voyage de don compatissant et en interagissant avec de nombreuses victimes confrontées à des vies difficiles et en écoutant leurs histoires, j'ai entendu l'histoire d'une personne qui avait renoncé à la vie en raison de sa gêne concernant son corps imparfait, ne voulant pas être un fardeau pour sa famille.
🌱 Une petite question – a ouvert un grand voyage
Pendant la pandémie de COVID-19 (2020 – 2022), j'ai reçu de tristes nouvelles lors d'un appel de contrôle de bien-être aux familles de victimes de l'agent Orange. À ce moment-là, j'ai su que je devais faire quelque chose de vraiment significatif, aussi petit soit-il.
Je me suis demandé : « S'ils ne peuvent pas aller travailler comme les autres, existe-t-il un travail doux qu'ils peuvent faire de chez eux qui les aiderait à se sentir reconnus et valorisés ? »
Et j'ai choisi le quilling en papier – un artisanat méticuleux mais accessible qui ne nécessite pas de déplacement. Avec juste de la patience et des mains habiles, on peut créer de beaux produits après environ un mois de formation. J'ai fondé le premier groupe à Hoi An, tout en envoyant des outils et en enseignant à distance par vidéo à ceux qui ne pouvaient pas se rendre sur le lieu de travail. Le 18 mai 2023, la petite boutique de Happy Smile Quilling a officiellement ouvert ses portes dans la vieille ville de Hoi An.
Premières difficultés et un tournant significatif
Après plus de six mois d'exploitation, en décembre 2023, le nombre de touristes européens à Hoi An a fortement augmenté. Cependant, le temps s'est refroidi et beaucoup de nos artisans handicapés à la campagne sont tombés malades et n'ont pas pu terminer les produits à temps, ce qui a entraîné une rupture de stock dans la boutique. C'était la période la plus inquiétante pour moi. Et c'est alors que j'ai décidé de :
- 👉 Étendre le modèle à l'échelle nationale – pas seulement à Quang Nam
- 👉 Enseigner l'artisanat et acheter leurs produits pour leur assurer un revenu à long terme
🌍 Happy Smile Quilling Aujourd'hui
Aujourd'hui, Happy Smile Quilling a des membres dans de nombreuses provinces du pays. Chaque produit vendu n'est pas seulement un souvenir, mais une opportunité pour une personne handicapée de continuer à croire en sa propre valeur et de gagner un revenu pour une vie meilleure. À l'avenir, le groupe continuera à développer la formation professionnelle et à vendre des produits pour les personnes handicapées, qu'elles soient victimes de l'agent Orange, qu'elles aient des handicaps congénitaux ou qu'elles aient été blessées dans des accidents dans d'autres zones rurales.

🌱 Una piccola domanda ha aperto un grande viaggio
Durante la pandemia di COVID-19 (2020 – 2022), ho ricevuto delle tristi notizie durante una chiamata di controllo del benessere alle famiglie delle vittime dell'Agente Arancio. In quel momento, sapevo di dover fare qualcosa di veramente significativo, non importa quanto piccolo.
Mi sono chiesto: "Se non possono andare a lavorare come gli altri, c'è un lavoro delicato che possono fare da casa che li aiuterebbe a sentirsi riconosciuti e apprezzati?"
E ho scelto il quilling di carta, un mestiere meticoloso ma accessibile che non richiede spostamenti. Con solo pazienza e mani abili, si possono creare bellissimi prodotti dopo circa un mese di formazione. Ho fondato il primo gruppo a Hoi An, inviando anche strumenti e insegnando a distanza tramite video a coloro che non potevano venire sul posto di lavoro. Il 18 maggio 2023, il piccolo negozio di Happy Smile Quilling ha aperto ufficialmente nella città antica di Hoi An.
Prime difficoltà e una svolta significativa
Dopo più di sei mesi di attività, a dicembre 2023, il numero di turisti europei a Hoi An è aumentato notevolmente. Tuttavia, il tempo si è raffreddato e molti dei nostri artigiani disabili in campagna si sono ammalati e non sono riusciti a completare i prodotti in tempo, portando il negozio a esaurire le scorte. Quello è stato il periodo più preoccupante per me. E fu allora che decisi di:
- 👉 Espandere il modello a livello nazionale, non solo a Quang Nam
- 👉 Insegnare il mestiere e acquistare i loro prodotti per garantire loro un reddito a lungo termine
🌍 Happy Smile Quilling Oggi
Oggi, Happy Smile Quilling ha membri in molte province del paese. Ogni prodotto venduto non è solo un souvenir, ma un'opportunità per una persona con disabilità di continuare a credere nella propria autostima e guadagnare un reddito per una vita migliore. In futuro, il gruppo continuerà a sviluppare la formatione professionale e a vendere prodotti per persone disabili, che siano vittime dell'Agente Arancio, abbiano disabilità congenite o siano rimaste ferite in incidenti in altre aree rurali.
